On September 22nd, the new representatives of the Board of Directors of the Professional Council of Architecture and Urban Planning (CPAU) will be elected.
On September 22nd, from 11.00 to 21.00, in the building located at 482 25 de Mayo Street, Capital City, CPAU members will choose the new members of the board of directors. Members will be able to vote among three lists (white, green and blue), which have outlined different proposals to continue improving CPAU’s performance.
This year, the board of directors renews half of its seats. The eight permanent directors and four alternate ones, whose term expires next October 2010, will be replaced by new directors.
Voters (registered members that by September 22nd have their registry in force and that have enrolled before June 1st, 2010, or those having a life registry) must personally show their card or ID. Besides, voters may also vote by mail before September 17th by sending all necessary information in just one envelope.
Those elected for permanent seats will hold their office for four years and those for alternate seats, two years. The latter will also be able to run for members in next elections.

CPAU is the institution delegated by State Law to control the practice of the profession. Besides, it grants the professional registry to conduct business in the National Jurisdiction and in the City of Buenos Aires. It is also the institution that represents architects and the profession before the society, government branches, managers, institutions and individuals in order to protect members’ rights and control members’ obligations compliance by providing them with all necessary information and advice on the professional practice.
