Norman Foster llega al Distrito Tecnológico de la mano del Banco Ciudad

It will be a 35,490 sq m., 5-floor, low building. The existing horizontal space will be used and office floors will have a special shape in order to offer panoramic views towards the park. The project was designed on the basis of transparent design, thus following the industrial architecture new trend in the area.

The launch was attended by the Head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires; Federico Sturzenegger, Head of the bank Banco Ciudad; and the Architect Juan Frigerio, representative of the international architecture office Foster & Partners. The project was designed by Foster & Partners, and the local architecture offices Berdichevsky - Cherry and Minond as part of the proposal offered by the developer CRIBA S.A.

The building will be awarded a “LEED NC Silver” environmental quality certification.  It will become "the first building in South America" that will meet the highest global standards in this field.

The building will offer new and innovative devices, such as a rainwater collection system that will allow to recycle water. Besides, it will have natural ventilation areas , in order to avoid the use of air conditioning, heating or ventilation systems for six or seven months during the year.

The project is based on the winning design of a contest in which 15 projects were submitted by both local and foreign offices. The winner was chosen by the members of the jury: Architects María Teresa Eghozcue, Pablo Katz, Francisco Mangado and Alberto Varas.
