BASF Energy Efficient House shows all innovative technologies available for the construction market offering high performance and environmental benefits.
CasaE (The BASF House) is a sustainable housing prototype that can save up to 70% of energy consumption as it has been built with materials and technologies to cause a low environmental impact. It is located in Greater Buenos Aires, in Tortuguitas Town. This new project seeks to promote sustainable construction. This building represents an experimental model that will be used to test new technologies, thus becoming a space where architects, builders and clients would be able to develop eco-friendly devices.
The initiative promotes a new building model reducing environmental impact and promoting the use of natural resources. CasaE uses almost no energy for heating, ventilating and air conditioning functions. Insulation panels have been installed in walls, floors and roofs in order to reduce heat loss or entry. Besides, specific materials used to build the house offer indoor environmental comfort.
Another characteristic of the house is that all processes and materials used to build the house comply with eco-efficiency standards regarding energy consumption, water rational use, air quality, toxicity and potential risks. The implementation of all those measures allows to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
Pablo Azqueta, the architect building the project, stated that CasaE is both efficient and sustainable and that it did not require a major investment: "If an owner invests 3% or 5% of the total price of its house in energy insulation materials, it will save up to 70% of current consumption."

In order to promote and train about sustainable construction in Argentina, CEDU has developed a new area called Environmental Commitment, through which it introduces practices related to the protection and care of the environment..
CEDU has developed a Corporate Social Responsibility Program in order to work towards a solution to the lack of habitability in schools and to provide accessibility to educational training programs. Through the commitment to ethical values and the Community, the Argentine Chamber of Urban Developers intends to run charity programs and activities.
